The building located at 47 Patision Str., with an overall surface area of 3600m², was built in the beginning of the century and has been used to house the offices of the Italian Educational Institute of Athens, as well as the class-rooms of the Italian School of Athens. As a result of the 1981 earthquake in Athens, the building’s bearing structure suffered serious damages and the floors above the ground floor have not been used since then. The building has also been classified as protected listed building. The project aims at the overall reinforcement of the building, its rearrangement and restructuring, with the objective to render the entire building useable to house the activities and meet the current needs of the Institute.
