The New Museum of Patras was built on a plot of land covering a surface area of approximately 28.500m² by the north entry to the town between the old and the new national roads. Due to its imposing aspect, the New Museum will be a point of reference for the larger area and therefore for the town of Patras as well.
The new Museum (with a total indoor surface area 8.000m²) is a complex of semi-autonomous buildings comprising compact prismatic volumes covered in marble and a main elliptical volume covered with titanium, and it will house exhibition spaces, auditoriums, laboratories and all other facilities required for the operation of a modern museum.
